Dow Hill Forest and Victoria Boys School

Dow Hill is a forested ridge above the hill town of Kurseong in the Darjeeling district of West Bengal, in the eastern Himalaya. It is best known for two long-established educational institutions founded in the British colonial period, the Victoria Boys' School and the Dow Hill Girls' School, set among dense stands of pine and deodar. The cool climate, mist and thick woodland made the area a favoured hill-station location, and the schools and surrounding forest paths remain a defining feature of Kurseong.
