If we ever say a purchase supports a charity

Core site access remains free. Optional Paid Groups memberships may be offered by group owners via Stripe when that feature is enabled. We do not currently sell site-wide subscriptions, tickets, or paid promotion. If that changes and we say that buying something supports a charity — including the animal welfare charity Cats Protection — we will tell you either the exact percentage of the price that goes to the charity, or the exact amount per purchase. You will see it before you pay, not afterwards.

You must not fake a charity claim

Do not say that money from a sale, listing, or paid service goes to Cats Protection or any other charity when it does not. That covers marketplace listings, tickets sold off-site, and paid readings or spiritual services. Taking money from people by lying about a charity is fraud, and we treat it as such.

If you do it, expect all of the following:

• Your account is removed and you are not welcome back.
• We block the accounts, email addresses, and IP addresses we can identify — though no website can promise that someone never returns under a new identity.
• We report you to Action Fraud, Trading Standards, or the charity you named, and we hand over the evidence we hold. Section 6 of our Privacy Policy covers disclosures of this kind.
