History & haunting lore

The Laperal White House is a colonial-era mansion in Baguio City, built by the Laperal family and occupied by Japanese forces during World War II. The building was damaged by the 1990 Luzon earthquake and has stood empty since, becoming one of Baguio's most famous haunted locations.

Local accounts describe Japanese soldiers' footsteps on the upper floor, a woman in white at the windows, and screams from the basement where wartime activities reportedly took place. Baguio's cool mountain fog adds to the atmospheric effect.

The White House is on Leonard Wood Road and can be viewed from the street. Interior access depends on current ownership arrangements and may not be available. Baguio is a mountain city with cool temperatures year-round — bring layers.
