History & haunting lore
Plas Teg is a grade-one listed Jacobean mansion near Pontblyddyn in Flintshire, built around 1610 for Sir John Trevor I. The house fell into disrepair during the twentieth century before a private restoration began in the 1980s. Its symmetrical design and plasterwork ceilings survive largely intact.
The house has accumulated reports of several distinct figures: a woman in white near the rear staircase, a gentleman in period dress in the library, and a child's voice on the upper floors. Visitors on open days describe door handles turning, sudden temperature drops, and footsteps on floorboards overhead.
Plas Teg opens for occasional guided tours and paranormal events by arrangement with the owner. It is not regularly open to the public. The approach road is narrow and rural with no public transport. Parking is limited to the courtyard.
