Debunking
Testing a claim against ordinary explanations and documenting whether the extraordinary story still holds.
Good debunking is specific: it shows how a photo, sound, or sighting can be reproduced or explained.
Respectful skepticism strengthens the community. Mockery of witnesses usually does not.
