Orb

A round light artifact in a photo or video, frequently caused by dust, moisture, or insects near the lens.

Most “orbs” in flash photography are out-of-focus particles reflecting light. Insects and raindrops create similar shapes on video.

If you share an orb image, include camera settings and whether flash or IR was used so others can assess ordinary causes.
