Hauntings & spirits

Poltergeist

Reports of noisy or physical disturbance — knocks, thrown objects, or disruption — often focused around a household.

The word comes from German roots roughly meaning “noisy spirit.” Cases are famous for physical effects rather than quiet apparitions.

Investigators look for mundane explanations first (settling houses, pranks, mislaid items) while documenting timelines carefully.
